Kate Agnes Thompson married Frank Latham Bromley on May 2, 1900, in Detroit. They moved to Bloomfield Hills and, as neighbors, became ensconced in the Cranbrook community. Kate’s personal interests centered in the arts, and she became very good friends with Carl and Olga Milles, as well as with other Cranbrook personalities. Doris Corbett was a history professor and well-known singer and ballad composer, teaching and performing throughout the United States and Canada. Abstract
In 1952, Loja Saarinen donated a half size May Festival tapestry to the new school in the village of Bobäck, less than a mile from Hvitträsk. The tapestry depicts the center square of the tapestry which hangs in the Dining Room at Kingswood School. The tapestry remained in the school for more than 60 years until the school underwent a major reconstruction project leaving no space for the tapestry. Virginia Kingswood Booth Vogel was the only daughter of Ralph Harman Booth and Myrtle Mary Batterman Booth. Ralph Harman Booth was a cofounder of Booth Newspapers and a brother of George Gough Booth, founder of Cranbrook.
